Job Description:
Oak Lee Montessori is a well-established childcare setting located in the heart of Pinner, offering high-quality Montessori education and care for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
We are seeking an experienced Catering Assistant to join our dedicated and professional team to support the preparation and serving of healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children in a Montessori nursery environment.
This is a Full-time position of 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am and 4:30pm and includes a one-hour paid lunch break. Oak Lee Montessori School is conveniently accessible via public transport.

Kitchen Assistant Responsibilities
- Support the Kitchen Manager in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.
- Assist in the preparation, cooking and presentation of nutritious meals and snacks in line with the nursery’s seasonal menu.
- Adhere strictly to food hygiene regulations, allergy protocols, and dietary requirements to safeguard the health and well-being of every child.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen, dining areas and food storage spaces.
- Wash, sanitise and properly store dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment after each service.
- Receive and store food deliveries safely, ensuring correct stock rotation and storage procedures are followed.
- Dispose of food waste responsibly in line with the nursery’s sustainability and environmental policies.
- Clear and clean classrooms after mealtimes to maintain a tidy and welcoming environment.
What we’re looking for
Previous experience working in a kitchen (desirable)
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety
Teamwork and ability to support staff and mealtime routines
