Chandlery Manager / Store person
We’re looking for a reliable, organised and customer-focused Chandlery Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our chandlery.
Having recently taken over a well-established chandlery business, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the next chapter of its success. You’ll help build on an existing loyal customer base while contributing to the growth and development of the business.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining customer service, stock management, retail sales and order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the chandlery.
- Serving customers both in person and over the telephone.
- Providing knowledgeable, friendly and professional customer service.
- Taking customer orders accurately.
- Picking, packing and dispatching orders.
- Managing and maintaining stock levels.
- Operating the EPOS system and processing sales.
- Using computer systems for ordering, stock control and general administration.
- Keeping the shop and stores organised, tidy and well presented.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in retail, chandlery, warehouse or trade counter environments.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confidence speaking with customers face-to-face and over the phone.
- Experience using computers and EPOS/till systems.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of the business.
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
Experience within the marine industry or a chandlery would be an advantage, but candidates with a strong customer service background and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a hands-on role within a respected, established business as it begins an exciting new chapter under new ownership.
To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your experience and why you’d be a great fit for the role.
Pay: £33,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
