Duties
- Support lead trainers in conducting obedience and behavioral training sessions for dogs of all ages and temperaments
- Assist with socialization activities to promote confidence and good manners in dogs
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized training facility, including cleaning kennels and equipment
- Observe dog behavior closely, noting progress or concerns to inform training plans
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions from pet owners and offering guidance on training techniques
- Assist with handling dogs during training exercises, ensuring safety for both animals and staff
- Participate in ongoing learning opportunities to develop your skills in animal care, behavior modification, and training methods
Requirements
- Previous veterinary experience or background in animal care is highly desirable
- Genuine passion for working with animals and improving their well-being
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Willingness to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., moving supplies or assisting with large dogs)
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during training sessions or facility maintenance
- Eagerness to learn new techniques and follow trainer instructions precisely
- Reliable, energetic, with a positive attitude focused on teamwork and animal welfare
- Acreditation in positive dog training methods desirable
