Are you a strong people leader with a passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement and building high-performing teams? We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual to join our Production team as a Production Manager.
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Production Operatives to ensure daily production plans are delivered safely, to the right quality, on time and in sequence. You will play a key role in promoting the Swift EPIC culture and behaviours, driving continuous improvement and ensuring a positive, engaged and high-performing working environment.
Your role will involve:
Leading, coaching and developing Production Operatives to meet performance, safety and quality standards
Ensuring production capability at the start of each shift by confirming people, parts, processes and tooling are in place
Delivering daily production plans and volume targets through effective shopfloor leadership and work allocation
Driving continuous improvement, problem resolution and high standards of 5S and working practices
Promoting job rotation and skills development to improve team versatility and resilience
Ensuring compliance with SHEQ regulations, supporting audits and leading investigations where required
Monitoring and reviewing team performance through regular reviews, appraisals and attendance management
Communicating targets, KPIs and objectives clearly, and reviewing performance regularly with the team
Working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business to deliver shared objectives
In addition to your operational responsibilities, you will actively contribute to creating a positive team culture, role-modelling Swift values and behaviours, and supporting change and improvement initiatives across the business.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership and communication skills, who is confident managing people, performance and change within a fast-paced production environment.
You will ideally have:
Proven supervisory or management experience, preferably within a manufacturing or automotive environment
Strong problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills
Good commercial and financial awareness, with the ability to manage resources efficiently
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
A proactive, positive and resilient approach, with a passion for developing people and improving processes
A working knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Lean and Kaizen (desirable)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
A relevant qualification in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Logistics or Operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
