Job Overview
We are looking for a new, enthusiastic member of staff, ready to learn and take on the full responsibilities of working in a cafe. There is no experience needed, I will be offering you full training.
We are looking for someone capable of flexibility within their working hours which may vary, as we are a small team and we make the hours work between us, for what is best for all of us. Expect to work mostly weekends over the summer holidays, this allows us to get you fully trained up by the winter months. You will also eventually be expected to work alone on certain days over the winter and summer. To give you some context, we are mostly busy over weekends and school holidays, this is when more work will be available, especially over summer. We are also open 7 days a week, meaning there will be regular shifts in the week, aswell as the weekends and holidays. The weekdays are not too busy, allowing to keep the cafe in good order. I do expect you to be working all the time, there is always something to do, whether it be cleaning or serving, we keep the cafe at a very high standard of cleanliness and because we are a small team if you slack on certain things, others have to pick it up and I do not believe this is fair. We all look after each other here and pull our weight. We also prepare all hot food in the cafe, so there is potential for extra work in this area too. Most importantly, you will be expected to work on all bank holidays as they are by far our busiest days of the year. Extra pay may also be given for these days (dependant on how the day is).
The job mainly consists of serving customers, preparing and cooking hot food, cleaning and keeping the cafe organised. Most importantly, making and serving coffees passionately and delivering outstanding customer service as we take pride in our high quality drinks and overall service . It is also important that overtime you can become knowledgeable of the area and are willing to give customers guidance on this. These are the main roles but my whole purpose of employing you is to have you on long term and for you to be able to do all of the roles in the cafe. I will spend a lot of my time training you up to do this, so please only apply if you are here for the long hall. 1+ years.
