Elfordleigh is an independent family run 3-star hotel, golf course and leisure centre in Plympton, Plymouth in the Beautiful South West of England. The hotel aims to provide a relaxed home away from home experience for our guests and members.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Head Receptionist, who’s passion is to deliver an excellent guest experience, whilst ensuring a smooth running of the reception desk.
Role:
To manage the Reception Department and to run the day to day operations. To drive sales and deliver excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the reception team by recruiting, training and appraising
- Establish targets and goals for the department
- Lead, motivate and coach the team to ensure the hotel standards are met and targets reached
- Report to management regarding sales results and productivity by attending weekly/fortnightly management meetings
- Arrange the reception rota, in accordance with hotel demands and budget and sign timesheets
- Revenue and budget management-monthly BOB report and yearly budget
- Build relationships with local organisations, tour groups, guests and staff members
- Update information on online agencies and website
- Research and contact new booking agencies
- Research and contact new corporate guests
- Decide yearly rates and update agencies and booking software
- Collate online and hotel reviews monthly
- Check and update commission statements
- Compare local hotel rates and update rates accordingly
- Deal with complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction and revenue isn’t jeopardised
- General reception duties to include; making reservations, checking guests in and out, answering phone calls and emails, etc.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has a minimum of 5 years reception experience in a fast paced hospitality environment
- Will have knowledge of and experience in Rezlynx (PMS)
- Has experience in working in a hotel
- Has experience in a managerial position
- Is flexible in hours – shifts to include weekdays, weekends and evenings, typically between the hours of 7am and 10pm. Our hotel is open 365 a year
- Has own transport, a must due to location
- Is confident, friendly and approachable
- Has a keen eye for detail
- Has a passion for delivering fantastic customer service and a warm welcome as the first point of contact
- Is able to communicate and work confidently as part of a team
- Has a smart appearance with excellent personal hygiene standards
- Has strong selling skills, including the upselling of products
- Has advanced experience of working with Microsoft Office applications
