Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of steel components.
- Perform TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on structural steel, sheet metal, and other metal components with precision and consistency.
- Use various hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble steel parts according to project specifications.
- Fabricate steel structures by measuring, marking, and cutting materials accurately using basic math skills.
- Weld (local or specified regional) steel components ensuring strong, clean welds that meet safety standards.
- Assist in the assembly of steel frameworks by aligning parts and securing them with appropriate welding techniques.
- Conduct quality inspections on completed welds and fabricated parts to verify structural integrity and adherence to safety codes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding and structural steel fabrication with a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety protocols.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity using hand tools, power tools, and basic math for precise measurements.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics accurately.
- Experience working with sheet metal and performing assembly tasks in a fabrication environment.
- Knowledge of welding standards or regional codes is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination to produce high-quality welds consistently.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a physically demanding environment while maintaining safety practices at all times.
