HR/Payroll/Accounts Officer

Job Overview
We are looking for someone who has HR, Payroll and Accounts experience to join our small team in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for a small payroll, HR and various accounts functions. The role is part time – 22.5 – 24 hours per week.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Monthly Payroll/HR
- Update monthly payroll with new starters/leavers/overtime/sickness and any other ad hoc changes
- Process weekly timesheets
- Process payroll and pay staff on a timely basis
- Recruitment
- Prepare staff contracts and new starter paperwork
- Staff inductions
- Process leavers
- Ensure esubmissions are sent to HMRC
- Process annual pay increases and any other ad hoc increases
- Ensure company pension is compliant as per pension regulator
- Submit pension contributions to our pension provider on a monthly basis
- Complete payroll year end/submit reports to HMRC and distribute P60’s
- Produce P11D’s and distribute to staff
- Look after staff holidays/time in lieu and absence records
- Driving Licence checks as per schedule
- Provide general HR advice and support
- Deal with HR issues/disputes/disciplinaries (support from Employment Lawyer available)
- Update company policies/handbook as and when required – ensure staff have all policies relevant to their role
Accounts
- Monthly Journals as provided by Finance
- Collate all receipts for credit card statements and enter on sage
- Credit card applications
- Process expenses
- Update British Gas and Castle Water with meter readings-download invoices
- Bank reconciliations for Selborne Biological accounts
- Update Filtration costings and enter on sage
- Irradiation Costings
- Delivery costings
- Set up new suppliers on sage
- Enter supplier invoices on sage
- Check supplier statements
- Check delivery notes
- Assist with stock check
Ad Hoc
Sort breakdown cover renewal
BI survey data
Ad hoc tasks relevant to capabilities/role
Training, Experience and/or Qualifications
3+ years experience in a relevant role
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills and possess excellent literacy and numeracy abilities
- Advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite of programs, in particular Excel and Word
- Sage 50 Payroll and Sage accounts experience would be an advantage
- Demonstrable critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Must possess excellent planning and organization skills
- Ability to work individually with limited supervision or as a member of a team
- Must be adaptable
- Must be Cooperative and willing to help others
- Willingness to follow company policies/guidelines and instructions
Physical Requirements
Pass a medical if required.
This position is an interesting and varied role – we are flexible as to how the part time hours are worked.
Job Types: Part time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 FTE per year depending on experience
