Junior Sous Chef / Pizza Chef – Oru Sutton

We’re looking for an experienced Pizza Chef / Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Oru Sutton.
The most important thing:
You must have at least 2–3 years of professional pizza-making experience, including making dough, stretching and shaping pizzas, and working confidently during service.
We’re looking for someone who is open-minded and creative — someone excited to experiment with Sri Lankan-inspired toppings and flavours on pizza, rather than only following traditional recipes.
Our kitchen serves seasonal British food heavily influenced by Sri Lankan flavours, alongside our pizza offering. The successful candidate will therefore have the opportunity to learn Sri Lankan cooking, baking and other areas of the kitchen, developing into a versatile all-round chef.
The role
- Pizza service Thursday–Sunday, including Saturday evenings.
- Help lead and support the kitchen when the Head Chef is not available.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and food safety.
- Contribute ideas and experiment with new Sri Lankan-inspired pizza toppings.
- Learn and support other areas of the kitchen, including Sri Lankan cooking and baking.
- Work across café, restaurant and events/weddings, adapting to different styles of service.
- Support and share knowledge with other members of the kitchen team.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 2–3+ years of professional pizza-making experience — this is essential.
- Is confident working independently during a busy service.
- Has experience in a professional kitchen and understands kitchen standards.
- Is open-minded and genuinely excited to experiment with Sri Lankan flavours on pizza.
- Wants to learn more about Sri Lankan cooking and modern British cuisine.
- Can take responsibility and help lead the kitchen when the Head Chef is away.
- Has a positive, collaborative attitude and a passion for hospitality.
