Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering, cooking, and providing excellent service in a fast-paced setting. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Hours needed are mostly weekday evenings and weekends. Please only apply if you have sufficient availability.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support chefs and kitchen staff in daily operations, including ingredient organisation and inventory management
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure food safety compliance
- Follow all food safety procedures, including proper storage of ingredients and disposal of waste
- Assist in setting up catering events or special functions when required
- Support the team during busy periods by performing various kitchen-related tasks as needed
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and service
- Flexibility to adapt to different tasks within the kitchen environment
