Print Room Assistant

ISS is a leading service provider in the UK Fresh Produce sector. Since 2014, we have grown to operate four sites across Kent, employing over 1,300 colleagues. We are now looking for a Print Room Assistant to join our Printroom team and help ensure labels and packaging materials are produced accurately and efficiently to support our production operation.
About the Role
This is a detail-focused role where you will support the Printroom Supervisor in ensuring labels are printed accurately, on time and in line with customer specifications and legal requirements. You will play a key role in preventing production downtime while maintaining high standards of quality, traceability and compliance.
This is a night shift- 4 on 4 off position.
Key Responsibilities
- Print and prepare labels in line with customer specifications and EEC standards.
- Ensure label requests are completed accurately and on time to support production.
- Verify label quality, positioning and barcode functionality before use.
- Check labels against customer specifications and maintain packaging traceability records.
- Complete all relevant printroom documentation accurately.
- Maintain printers and carry out routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
- Download label information and provide support to production lines.
- Issue scales and equipment to production teams and ensure they are maintained correctly.
- Follow HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Report any printing, packaging or equipment issues promptly.
What You'll Bring
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
- Experience in a production, packhouse or food manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Organised and methodical approach to work.
- Flexible, reliable and able to work as part of a team.
