We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Worker to join our team.
We are a small, family‑run construction and groundworks company based in Chorley, looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Yard Worker.
This is a hands‑on role carrying out a range of general yard duties to support daily operations. You will work both independently and as part of a small team in a busy yard environment.

Key Responsibilities
- General yard duties and organisation
- Handling and maintaining construction tools
- Supporting daily site and yard operations
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Operate management systems to track inventory movements
- Perform basic mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
- Support construction or site-related activities as required
- Conduct regular inspections of yard equipment and report any issues promptly
Requirements
- Experience with construction tools and materials
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is a plus
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good physical fitness and stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence required
- Valid CSCS card preferred
- Forklift experience preferred but not essential
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to get stuck in
Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
