Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance is seeking a dedicated HR professional to provide consistent, timely and specialist people support across the Cancer Alliance. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique role for an organisation with direct accountability to NHS England for cancer transformation.
The post holder will act as the HR expertise for Alliance staff and leaders, providing advice, case management, workforce reporting, training and organisational development support. The role will be central to strengthening our people practices, supporting managers, improving staff experience and helping the Alliance deliver its approved Organisational Development Strategy. The role will report directly to the Cancer Alliance Deputy Director of Corporate Services with professional guidance and leadership from the Trust People Services function.
This is a hybrid working role.
In this role, you will:
Provide HR advice, guidance and support to CMCA staff and managers
Support sensitive and confidential staffing matters, working closely with the Deputy Director of Corporate Services and CCC HR colleagues where escalation is required
Lead and support employee relations activity, ensuring timely, appropriate and proactive case management
Maintain accurate establishment and workforce records and produce regular workforce reporting to support assurance, finance and decision-making
Coordinate job evaluation, recruitment activity and contract-related processes
Support the development of CMCA-specific HR procedures, guidance, tool kits, crib sheets and intranet resources in line with Trust policies
Ensure Trust policy and procedures are adhered to and provide support to the Trust wide People Commitment and Strategy
Lead the staff induction process and support new starters to have a positive and consistent experience
Contribute to monthly peer support arrangements and provide practical support for managers across the Alliance
Line manage the CMCA Band 5 Corporate Services role
