Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver / Mate to join our team. This role involves Driving a 3.5 Luton van and assisting when in as a mate in delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have some experience in delivery driving or warehouse operations, with a strong focus on safety, communication, and physical endurance. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the logistics and transportation sector.
Responsibilities
- Driving, loading and unloading goods at various locations
- Support with securing cargo to prevent movement during transit
- Help navigate routes and ensure timely deliveries
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any issues that arise
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle interior and exterior
- Follow all health and safety regulations throughout the delivery process
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as stock organisation and heavy lifting when required
Skills
- Previous experience as a delivery driver /Mate or in a warehouse environment is desirable
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record (no more than 6 points)
- Experience with commercial driving vehicles such as vans or Luton Vans
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers
- Strong organisational skills to support route planning and cargo management
- Physical stamina for prolonged periods of driving and manual handling tasks
