An rare opportunity has arisen to join Professional Carers Edinburgh as a Deputy Manager.
Working alongside the Registered Branch Manager, you will help lead and inspire our fantastic team, maintain exceptional standards of care and support the branch through an exciting period of expansion across South Queensferry and the surrounding areas of Edinburgh.

The Terms
- Salary: £31,492.50
- OTE to earn an additional £2,500.00 p/a on call allowance.
- Contract: Full Time
- Hours: 40
- Working Pattern: Monday - Friday.
- Shift Times: 9am – 5pm core
- Role Commencement: ASAP
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Registered Branch Manager to lead, motivate and develop the office and care teams, including supervision, training, performance management and recruitment.
- Helping to implement and maintain an effective quality assurance programme that promotes high-quality care, best practice and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the Registered Branch Manager in maintaining Care Inspectorate compliance and achieving a minimum grading of Level 4 – Good.
- Building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication with commissioners, service users, relatives, social work teams and other key stakeholders.
- Playing a leading role in business development and branch growth, with a particular focus on increasing weekly care hours across local authority and private-sector markets.
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities while supporting the effective mobilisation and ongoing delivery of new care packages and contracts.
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the branch and confidently deputising for the Registered Branch Manager during periods of absence.
- Providing practical operational support when required, which may occasionally include covering care calls during staff absences.
- Participating in the local on-call rota as arranged.
Requirements

- Hold a relevant Health and Social Care qualification or be willing to work towards one, such as SVQ Level 4 or above in Management and Leadership.
- Have at least 12 months’ management or senior leadership experience within a Health and Social Care setting.
- Have experience of managing a substantial care service, ideally delivering at least 1,500 care hours per week.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of branch development, business growth and increasing weekly care hours.
- Be passionate about delivering safe, high-quality and person-centred care.
- Possess strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Be commercially aware, results-focused and confident in building relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders.
- Be resilient, proactive and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Be confident using digital systems and standard office software.
- Be flexible, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
- A sound working knowledge of the National Care Standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in the use of systems such as careplanner and pass [desirable] and microsoft office.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday 9-5pm with expectations to cover on call duties when required, as part of a roster planned in advance (including one in four weekend cover).
