Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Functions & Banqueting Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional food experiences for a variety of events and functions. In this dynamic role, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and service for banquets, conferences, weddings, and special occasions. Your leadership will ensure that every event is executed flawlessly, reflecting high standards of quality, safety, and hospitality. Duties
- Lead and supervise the banqueting kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service delivery for all functions
- Plan menus tailored to event requirements, dietary needs, and client preferences, maintaining creativity and quality standards
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to ensure visually appealing and delicious dishes
- Coordinate with event planners and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless execution of each function from setup to service completion
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimize resources and reduce costs
- Train, mentor, and develop team members in culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service excellence
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy catering or hospitality environment, preferably in banqueting or large-scale event settings
- Strong background in food production, cooking techniques, and kitchen management with extensive culinary experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively
- Excellent food preparation skills with a keen eye for detail in presentation and quality control
- Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP or equivalent certifications
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience with a focus on serving large groups during events or functions
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism
Pay: Up to £15.00 per hour
