# Senior Joinery Sales Estimator
## Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven *Senior Joinery Sales Estimator* to manage customer enquiries, prepare accurate quotations, and help secure new projects for the business.
The successful candidate must have strong knowledge and experience within the bespoke joinery industry, together with a *good understanding of the wider construction industry*.
You must be able to read and understand architectural drawings, technical drawings, elevations, schedules, specifications, and construction information, and use these documents to accurately price bespoke joinery packages.
You will regularly communicate with main contractors, architects, interior designers, quantity surveyors, project managers, and other construction professionals. You must therefore understand construction terminology, project stages, site requirements, coordination responsibilities, and how joinery works alongside other trades.
This is not a trainee or entry-level position. We require someone who already understands joinery, construction, estimating, customer communication, and the process of converting enquiries into confirmed and profitable projects.
## Key Responsibilities
* Review architectural drawings, technical drawings, elevations, schedules, specifications, and tender information.
* Understand the full scope and requirements of bespoke joinery and construction packages.
* Prepare accurate, detailed, and commercially competitive quotations.
* Calculate material, labour, manufacturing, finishing, delivery, and installation costs.
* Identify missing information, unclear details, exclusions, commercial risks, and potential additional costs.
* Understand how joinery must coordinate with walls, floors, ceilings, services, ironmongery, lighting, finishes, and other trades.
* Communicate professionally with clients, architects, designers, main contractors, quantity surveyors, and project managers.
* Answer technical and commercial questions relating to joinery, construction, materials, finishes, installation, pricing, and lead times.
* Build trust with customers and make them feel confident in the company’s knowledge and capabilities.
* Follow up enquiries and quotations and work to convert them into confirmed projects.
* Negotiate pricing while protecting the company’s margins and commercial interests.
* Work closely with the design, purchasing, production, installation, and management teams.
* Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, follow-ups, and project progress.
* Help bring suitable and profitable projects into the business.
## Essential Experience and Skills
Applicants must have:
* Several years of relevant experience in bespoke joinery sales, estimating, pricing, or a similar senior role.
* Strong knowledge of bespoke joinery manufacturing, materials, finishes, fittings, ironmongery, and installation.
* A good understanding of the construction industry, including terminology, project stages, site processes, coordination, and tendering.
* Proven experience pricing bespoke joinery packages from drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical information.
* The ability to read and fully understand architectural drawings, technical drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and construction details.
* An understanding of how joinery interfaces with other trades and building elements.
* The ability to prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive quotations.
* Strong customer service, sales, communication, and negotiation skills.
* The confidence to speak with customers and answer technical and commercial questions.
* The ability to identify missing information, pricing risks, exclusions, and variations.
* A proven ability to manage enquiries and convert quotations into confirmed projects.
* Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time-management skills.

This position is for an experienced professional who can contribute immediately.
We are not looking for trainees, junior estimators, or applicants who need to learn joinery pricing or construction processes from the beginning. Training will be provided on our internal systems and company procedures, but applicants must already have strong joinery knowledge, a good understanding of construction, and relevant estimating or sales experience.
