Alternative Provision Science Teacher
Are you a passionate Science Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Our education recruitment agency is seeking dedicated Alternative Provision Science Teachers to work in specialist settings across Gosport.
This rewarding role is ideal for teachers who are committed to supporting students who face barriers to mainstream education, including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, SEND, or those at risk of exclusion.
The Role
As an Alternative Provision Science Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with a range of additional needs.
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and academic progress.
- Work alongside support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals to provide the best outcomes for pupils.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress while maintaining high expectations.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
- Previous experience in Alternative Provision, PRUs, specialist schools, or with pupils with SEMH or SEND is desirable.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
