Strategic Finance Manager
Hours: 37 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00
Contract: Temporary Assignment (21 September 2026 – 27 December 2026)
Location: Sir Henry Mitchell House, Bradford, BD5 0QL
We're recruiting a Strategic Finance Manager (Interim) to support Council and Children & Families Trust Ltd. This is a senior finance role, ideal for a CCAB-qualified accountant with significant experience in statutory accounts, audit, and corporate finance management.
About the Role:
As a Strategic Finance Manager, you'll provide essential financial leadership and oversight, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and effective reporting across the Trust's operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and delivering year-end statutory accounts and audits
- Managing Companies House filing, VAT (including partial exemption), outsourced payroll, pensions, PAYE, and Corporation Tax
- Overseeing cashflow management and all aspects of day-to-day finance functions
- Reporting to and supporting Executive Management and Audit Committee
- Advising budget holders and supporting budgeting and forecasting
- Mentoring and supporting finance staff
- Partnering with colleagues across the Council and Trust to ensure sound financial governance
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for a qualified and experienced finance professional.
You'll ideally have:
- CCAB qualification
- Significant experience in statutory accounts, audit, VAT, payroll, pensions, PAYE, Corporation Tax, and cashflow management
- Experience reporting to executive leadership and audit committees
- Strong mentoring and staff development skills
- Proven business partnering experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex environment
