Lead Gymnastics Coach (Term-Time Only)
Location: Islington, Hackney and Enfield (across multiple venues)
Contract: Part Time, Term-Time Only
Pay: £22.00 per hour
Core Coaching Hours: Approximately 18.5 hours per week.
Additional Paid Hours: Regular opportunities are available through school coaching, breakfast clubs, community classes, holiday camps, competitions and club events.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and passionate Lead Gymnastics Coach to join our team.

You'll work alongside a supportive leadership team, helping to deliver outstanding gymnastics experiences while inspiring the next generation of gymnasts.
About the Role
As a Lead Gymnastics Coach, you will lead the delivery of our recreational gymnastics programme while also supporting squad sessions where required.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, safe and progressive gymnastics sessions, maintaining high coaching standards and supporting the development of assistant coaches and young leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching
- Deliver outstanding recreational gymnastics sessions.
- Coach squad gymnasts where required.
- Plan engaging, progressive and enjoyable sessions for children of all ages and abilities.
- Adapt coaching to meet the needs of individual gymnasts.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
- Inspire confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of gymnastics.
Leadership
- Lead sessions confidently and professionally.
- Support and mentor assistant coaches and young leaders.
- Promote high coaching standards across all sessions.
- Be a positive role model for both gymnasts and fellow coaches.
Competitions and Events
- Support club competitions throughout the year.
- Attend club displays and events.
- Assist with holiday camps during school holidays where available.
Safeguarding
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child welfare.
- Ensure all sessions are delivered safely and professionally.
- Follow all club policies and procedures.
Working Pattern
This is a term-time-only position.
Core Coaching Hours (Required)
Wednesday: 4:30pm to 7:40pm
Friday: 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am to 3:00pm
Sunday: 9:45am to 1:00pm
Additional Paid Coaching Opportunities
For coaches looking to increase their hours, there are regular opportunities to work across other areas of the club, including:
- School curriculum gymnastics during the school day.
- Breakfast clubs and before-school coaching.
- Monday community gymnastics sessions (3:30pm to 6:00pm).
- Tuesday community gymnastics sessions (4:30pm to 7:30pm).
- Holiday camps during school holidays.
- Competitions, displays and club events.
- Coaching cover and private lessons where available.
These additional hours provide the opportunity to build a larger coaching timetable throughout the week.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 Gymnastics Coaching qualification (IGA or British Gymnastics equivalent).
- Level 3 qualification is preferred.
- Experience coaching recreational gymnastics.
- Experience leading gymnastics sessions independently.
- Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications, or willingness to complete training.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience coaching competitive or squad gymnasts.
- Experience mentoring assistant coaches.
- Experience working within schools or community gymnastics settings.
- Experience supporting competitions, displays and events.
