Tiny Toez @ Westfield is looking for a one to one support worker who will support a child in our setting for three days per week.
Working pattern: Tuesday - Friday 8.00-1.00pm, Term Time Only
Qualification: Level 3 or above with a recognised childcare qualification
Responsible to: Nursery Manager
To work as a member of the nursery team to provide high quality care and education. In consultation with parents/carers and SENCO, and in collaboration with other agencies, plan and provide for individual children; ensure that each child’s cognitive, social and emotional needs are met.
To ensure the nursery is a safe environment for children, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times. To promote positive behaviour and support children’s personal, social and emotional development.
To foster children’s growth, self esteem and independence.
To plan and deliver focused learning opportunities for individual children and to carry out focused tasks from individual action plans.
To work with the key workers, to discuss each child’s individual needs.
To help extend the nursery curriculum for the children by participating in outings and trips and to support the nursery team in the outside curriculum to ensure the children have access to all areas of the nursery.
To maintain confidential files, reports and developmental records for assessment purposes.
Consult with parents/carers so that their involvement in the nursery is maintained.
To ensure that parents/carers are fully supported to access the full range of services available to them.
To participate in supervision and appraisal.
To take part in relevant training and group meetings as appropriate to enhance personal and professional development and practice.
To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety.
