Join our dynamic security team as a Security Officer at Ayr Central Shopping Centre. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring premises, responding swiftly to incidents. Your proactive approach and vigilant eye will ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and assets while upholding the highest standards of security professionalism. This position is every weekend - 8 hour shifts on each day (Additional hours during the week can be available)
Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous surveillance using CCTV systems to monitor activity across the premises and identify potential security risks or suspicious behavior.
- Control access points by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors to prevent unauthorized entry.
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, coordinating with local authorities or emergency services as needed.
- Perform routine patrols around the facility, including perimeter checks and inspection of security equipment to ensure operational integrity.
- Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and surveillance records accurately for future reference and investigations.
- Provide first aid assistance in case of minor injuries or medical emergencies until professional help arrives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during long shifts while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and effective interaction with team members and visitors.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 per week
