Post: Psychological Intervention Assistant
Hours: 28.8 per week (as this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata)
Base: CAMHS South Lauriston Buildings
Fixed Term for 12 Months
The Psychological Intervention Assistant post is specialist Assistant Psychologist role for an individual who has completed the EPP-CYP course. The post-holder will work within NHS Scotland; within a mental health and/or wellbeing service as part of a team delivering, under supervision from an experienced therapist (i.e. a practitioner psychologist, Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology, or psychological therapists) educated to at least CBT Diploma level in relation to the population served, as agreed with the NHS Health Board Director of Psychology), high-quality; outcome-informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, e.g.: anxiety, depression/low mood, and self-regulatory and behavioural difficulties (evidence based parenting interventions). The post holder will demonstrate and work with a critical knowledge of the concepts of diversity, inclusion and multiculturalism to ensure that psychological interventions are provided within safe, effective and values-driven mental health services.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
