Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Roofer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Your expertise will ensure roofs are durable, weatherproof, and built to the highest standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret roofing schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects.
- Install roofing materials such as shingles, metal panels, tiles, or membranes using hand tools and power tools efficiently.
- Perform roof repairs by replacing damaged sections, sealing leaks, and reinforcing structures to extend roof lifespan.
- Operate welding equipment for metal roofing fabrication and ensure all welding meets safety standards.
- Use heavy lifting techniques safely to handle materials like shingles, plywood, or metal sheets.
- Conduct fabrication tasks including cutting, shaping, and assembling roofing components with precision.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, plumbers, and other tradespeople to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless integration of roofing systems.
- When roofing work is unavailable, carry out gutter clearing and uPVC cleaning to support the wider maintenance side of the business and keep workloads consistent.
- Clean and maintain gutters, fascias, soffits, and other uPVC elements to a high standard, ensuring they are free from debris and presentable.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris regularly while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in roofing installation and repair across residential or commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to roofing systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, and utility knives; familiarity with power tools including drills and saws.
- Experience with welding techniques suitable for metal roofing fabrication.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working at heights or in challenging conditions.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, masonry, carpentry, and construction principles is a plus.
- Skilled in using construction-related equipment such as scaffolding or ladders safely and effectively.
- Willingness to carry out gutter clearing and uPVC cleaning when roofing work is not available.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship.
