We are seeking an experienced and motivated PAS128 / Utility Surveyor to join our expanding team based from our Worcester and Bristol offices. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure, construction, and development projects, delivering high-quality underground utility surveys in accordance with PAS 128 standards.
The successful candidate will be passionate about producing accurate, high-quality surveys while maintaining excellent health and safety standards and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
About the Role
As a Utility Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out PAS 128 compliant utility surveys using the latest survey technology. You will work independently and as part of a team, collecting and processing survey data to produce accurate underground utility information for a wide range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out underground utility surveys to PAS 128 specification.
- Detect and map buried services using electromagnetic locating equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
- Undertake topographical surveys where required.
- Collect accurate survey data using GNSS and total station equipment.
- Process field data and produce high-quality utility survey drawings.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain survey equipment and company vehicles.
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and site personnel.
- Support and mentor junior surveyors and trainees where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience carrying out PAS 128 utility surveys.
- Competent using GPR and electromagnetic cable locating equipment.
- Experience with GNSS, total stations, and survey data collection.
- Good understanding of PAS 128 standards and industry best practice.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.
Desirable Qualifications
- CSCS Card.
- Experience using AutoCAD, N4CE, or similar survey software.
- Able to Pass DBS and Security back ground checks
- Utility mapping and data processing experience.
