Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients across various specialties, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
- Operate ultrasound equipment with precision, adjusting settings to obtain optimal images for accurate diagnosis.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to review images and provide preliminary findings when appropriate.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring all imaging data is properly documented and stored securely.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and infection control standards to protect patients and staff.
- Stay current with technological advancements in sonography and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sonographer or Ultrasound Technician with a strong understanding of diagnostic imaging techniques.
- Certification from a recognized professional body such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in operating various ultrasound equipment and software systems.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to sonography practices.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed.
