You will be responsible for treating patients at large and small scale public events as well as on Patient Transport Services. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will administer a range of treatments and work closely with colleagues from Team Medic, Statutory Ambulance Trust’s and from the wider Emergency Services where applicable.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and vehicles are cleaned and ready to be deployed to events or patient transport shifts.
You may also be requested to do additional work for Team Medic as the company sees fit.
Your working days will be scheduled on a 4-on-4-off rota. And the the work times will generally range from 06H00- 20H00 with a 30 minute lunch break, as Team Medic is an events company the working hours may be scheduled around bookings received for the working day.
You will report to the Operations Manager
Drivers license is essential.
FAW, FREC 3 or equivalent preferred.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working at events which will include the following:
- Treating patients within the agreed scope of practice and making referrals for advanced medical support in line with the Pre-Hospital Early Warning Score as appropriate.
- Provide assistance to colleagues, Healthcare Professionals and the wider emergency services where needed.
- Act in a professional manner at all times whilst representing Team Medic.
- Maintain a high standard of appearance, fitness for role and wear the Team Medic Uniform with pride ensuring compliance with the standards of dress policy.
- Understand and follow all role relevant policies of Team Medic.
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment is fit for purpose, clean, stocked and stored in line with Team Medic policy.
- Maintain patient and client confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure a high standard of paperwork, including patient care records (PCR).
- Attend any training events as deemed appropriate by Team Medic to maintain competency and personal development for the role. Act as a mentor to new members of the team as required.
- To perform any other duties commensurate with these responsibilities, the grade of the post and skill and qualifications of the post-holder.
- Ensuring the Responder bags are packed according to our requirements
- Ensuring the stock levels in the stockroom are kept at the required levels
- Ensuing the vehicles and equipment are packed for events and unpacked when they’re returned.
- Ensuring that the vehicles are maintained and kept in a clean condition and ready to “go” when needed
- Undertake vehicle checks are done on a regular basis
