The Role
As a Plant & Fleet Fitter, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and safety of our specialist plant and fleet.
Based at our Wigan workshop, you will work within a skilled team responsible for servicing and repairing a wide range of equipment, including cranes, lifting systems, HGVs, and associated plant.
This is a practical, hands-on role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work on specialist equipment that supports projects across the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair specialist equipment including mobile cranes, heavy forklifts, hydraulic gantry systems, and lifting gear
- Carry out maintenance on HGVs, trailers, vans, generators, lighting towers, and small plant
- Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Support breakdown response across the UK when required
- Ensure all work is completed in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards

About You
- Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in a mechanical or engineering discipline
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance, ideally within heavy plant or industrial environments
- Practical, hands-on approach with a focus on getting the job done properly
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
- Organised, safety-conscious, and committed to quality
- Experience working with cranes or specialist lifting equipment is desirable
