About the role
Little Beehive Nursery is looking for a reliable, conscientious and hardworking Cleaner to join our team at our Newport nursery.
You will play an important part in ensuring our nursery is clean, hygienic, safe and welcoming for the children, families and staff who use it every day.
The role is for 17.5 contracted hours per week, working 3.5 hours each weekday evening, Monday to Friday from 5.30 pm until 9.00 pm.
What you’ll be doing
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and sanitising nursery playrooms and communal areas
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Cleaning toilets, washrooms and staff areas
- Cleaning internal windows, glass panels and doors as required
- Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and frequently touched areas
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies where required
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly
- Maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Reporting any maintenance, health and safety or hygiene concerns to the Nursery Manager
- Following Little Beehive Nursery’s health, safety and infection-control procedures

Previous professional cleaning experience would be beneficial, although we are equally interested in applicants who can demonstrate the right attitude, reliability and commitment to doing the job well.
