Melton Concrete Products Ltd is a leading designer, and installer of precast concrete flooring and stair products throughout the UK. We work closely with contractors, developers and housebuilders to provide high-quality precast concrete products and exceptional customer service.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our team based in Chippenham.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing designs and technical drawings for precast concrete flooring and staircase projects using CAD and Winfloor software. In addition to detailed design work, the role will involve preparing take-offs and quotation layouts to support our sales and estimating team.
Working closely with customers, architects and engineers, you will play a key role in delivering projects from initial enquiry through to installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed precast flooring and staircase designs.
- Create and amend technical drawings using CAD software.
- Prepare flooring layouts and designs using Winfloor.
- Carry out material take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings.
- Produce quotation designs and preliminary layouts for tender and pricing purposes.
- Review project drawings, specifications and structural information.
- Liaise with customers, contractors and architects/engineers to resolve design queries as well as our internal installation teams.
- Ensure designs comply with project requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Support projects from initial enquiry through manufacture and installation.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
About You
Essential
- Experience using CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and structural drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience within the precast concrete industry.
- Experience with precast flooring and staircase design.
- Experience using Winfloor software.
- Experience preparing take-offs and quotations.
- Background in construction or design.
