Duties
- Prepare a variety of dishes following established recipes and standards
- Assist in the organisation and setup of kitchen stations before service
- Cook meals efficiently while maintaining high quality and presentation standards
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
- Assist in meal preparation for special events or customised orders as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up and sanitising utensils and surfaces
- Support the team during busy periods, ensuring timely service delivery
- Follow instructions from senior chefs or kitchen managers to ensure smooth operation
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Experience in meal preparation, plating, and presentation techniques
- Excellent understanding of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced setting such as a restaurant or café is desirable
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings or weekends if required
