Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while assisting the Nursery Manager in overseeing staff, programmes, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with management experience and a passion for early childhood education to contribute to the development and wellbeing of young children.
Duties
- Supervising daily activities and staff to ensure smooth operation of the nursery.
- Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs.
- Lead by example in delivering high-quality childcare, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
- Oversee children's safety and wellbeing at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and team members regarding children's progress and nursery activities.
- Support staff training and development to uphold professional standards within the team.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including safeguarding policies and early years regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as rostering, record keeping, and reporting as required.
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development.
- Experience working directly with children in a childcare environment is essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively within a busy setting.
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Passionate about providing high-quality care and education for young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities.
Pay: £24,420.00-£35,500.00 per year
