We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Barista / Front of House Specialist to join our premium cafe and dessert lounge. At Melto, we don't just serve coffee; we roast our specialty beans in-house and craft high-end dessert experiences.
In this role, you will be the face of Melto, delivering exceptional service in a vibrant, stylish environment. Whether you are pouring the perfect latte art during the morning rush or serving artisan crepes and fresh juices in the evening, your passion for quality will create an atmosphere where guests feel valued and eager to return.
Duties
- Master the Brew: Prepare and serve a variety of specialty coffee beverages using our in-house roasted beans, ensuring elite quality and latte art standards.
- Mix & Create: Prepare fresh juices, signature milkshakes, and specialty non-alcoholic drinks following Melto’s unique recipes.
- Customer Experience: Provide friendly, attentive service—taking orders, explaining our "roast-to-cup" process, and offering personalized dessert recommendations.
- POS Proficiency: Operate our POS systems efficiently for order processing, table management, and accurate cash handling.
- Maintain Excellence: Keep the cafe and bar area immaculate. Ensure food preparation surfaces, equipment, and seating areas meet our high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Team Support: Assist with food handling and the presentation of our artisan waffles, crepes, and brunch items to ensure every plate looks "Instagram-ready."
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience as a barista in a specialty coffee environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with dialling in grinders and latte art is a major plus.
- Service-First Mindset: Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests and manage the "vibe" of the cafe.
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with POS systems (like Aloha, Micros, or Square) for efficient sales processing.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings (from 7 AM) and late evenings (until 11 PM), weekends, and holidays.
- Detail Oriented: An understanding of food safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a 5-star hygiene environment.
- Pace: Excellent time management skills to handle the busy morning commuter rush or the high-volume evening dessert crowd seamlessly.
