About the role
Balfour Beatty has another superb opportunity for a Traffic & Logistics Manager to join our amazing Major Projects team to work at our iconic Old Oak Common development in London.
HS2s new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK’s best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
What you'll be doing
Some key responsibilities will be:
- Providing strategic input to BBVS decision making; ensuring balanced focus on needs of the project and impact on local stakeholders
- Assisting with overseeing the subcontractors Traffic Marshals (TMs) and supporting the with training of the TMs, providing task briefings, toolbox talks
- Providing advice and instruction to subcontractors / TM team to effectively deal with non-conformance and complaints
- Uploading Schedule 4 and Schedule 33 consents, traffic management drawings, RAMS documents onto Street Manager and Business Collaborator.
- Undertaking / managing audits of traffic management scheme works ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- NRSWA Supervisor accreditation or equivalent LANTRA qualification
- LANTRA12D, (M7) Manager / Client Officer HNC Civil Engineering
- Engaging and confident communicator. Experienced in supervising Traffic Management Schemes and coordination of major street and road works. Excellent knowledge of NRSWA 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, Computer literate using Excel, Word, Power-point.
- An excellent working knowledge of ‘The Red Book’, Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, TSRGD 2016 Regs, CAD software.
