Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in a care home setting. The successful candidate will plan and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, with a particular focus on senior care & dementia care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults by creating a vibrant and supportive environment.
Duties
- Facilitate group and individual activities that encourage participation and foster community spirit.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure activities meet the needs of all participants.
- Monitor residents’ engagement levels during activities and adjust plans as necessary to maximise participation.
- Collaborate with care staff to integrate activity planning into individual care plans, especially for those requiring dementia care.
- Maintain records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity offerings.
- Ensure a safe environment during all activities, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Post daily on social media platform.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within a care home setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with seniors and their families.
- Knowledge or experience in dementia care is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with seniors and enhancing their quality of life through meaningful activities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinking skills to develop innovative activity ideas that cater to diverse interests.
The role will be full time 17.5 hrs. 5 days per week 3 hours a day , 9am to 12:30pm,
Pay rate: £13.25 per hour
