Role Overview
Are you passionate about culinary excellence and creating delightful dining experiences? We are seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team and contribute to the well-being of our residents by preparing nutritious and appetising meals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals that adhere to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
- Collaborate with staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of elderly individuals.
- Maintain compliance with hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure the kitchen remains clean and organised.
- Follow written and verbal communication effectively.
- Serve hot and cold food with excellent presentation skills.
- Deliver outstanding customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
- Knowledge of special dietary needs for seniors.
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A basic food hygiene certificate is required; if not already obtained, the ability to complete the course is necessary.
- Knowledge of IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) is preferred but not essential (training provided).
Requirements
- Culinary certification or relevant experience.
- Understanding of food safety regulations.
- Ability to adapt to changing dietary requirements and preferences.
