Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Breakfast and Afterschool Deputy Manager to support overseeing daily operations of our breakfast and afterschool programmes alongside the Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children, ensuring programme activities run smoothly from morning through afternoon alongside the manager. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and child development, with a focus on fostering positive learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise breakfast and afterschool activities in accordance with organisational policies and educational standards alongside the Manager
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during programme hours
- Support the Management of staff schedules, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to team members alongside the manager
- Develop engaging educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding programme updates or concerns alongside the Manager
- Organise resources and materials needed for daily activities
- Monitor programme compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding regulations
- Foster a positive environment that encourages children's participation and enjoyment
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching or childcare management is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, children, and parents confidently
- Ability to support the Manager in leading a team with motivation and professionalism
- Creative approach to developing educational activities that cater to diverse needs
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations within childcare settings
- Passionate about child development and creating inclusive learning environments
