The Chancery Rosewood, is redefining luxury in Mayfair, housed in the former U.S. Embassy and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield. With 144 suites by Joseph Dirand and a collection of dynamic dining and bar spaces, it’s a place where experiences are curated, conversations flow, and every detail matters.
As Security Manager, you will lead the Security function at The Chancery Rosewood, working closely with the Cluster Director of Security to create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests, associates, and visitors. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines operational excellence with Relationship Hospitality, requiring a strong, people-focused leader who can guide security operations with professionalism, integrity, and care. You will oversee security strategy, incident management, emergency preparedness, and team development while ensuring the highest standards of safety and guest experience are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop the Security team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.
- Ensure the safety and security of all guests, associates, visitors, and hotel assets while maintaining a reassuring and approachable presence throughout the property.
- Oversee the reporting, investigation, and resolution of security incidents, thefts, criminal offences, and potential loss situations, ensuring accurate documentation and timely escalation.
- Lead emergency responses to fire alarms, security incidents, and crisis situations, ensuring all procedures are followed effectively and with composure.
- Develop and maintain security standards, crisis management plans, business continuity frameworks, and threat condition procedures across the hotel.
- Build strong relationships with hotel leadership, associates, guests, law enforcement agencies, and external stakeholders to maintain a proactive and collaborative approach to security.
- Oversee key control systems, cash handling security processes, security records, and departmental compliance standards.
- Lead recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning activities within the Security team.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities for improvement, ensuring security procedures evolve in line with operational needs and best practice.
About You
- Connection — You are a true ‘people person’ who understands that security is also about service. You build trust with guests and colleagues naturally, making people feel safe and welcomed from the very first interaction.
- Guest-Centricity — You bring warmth and professionalism to every encounter, recognising that a Security Guard is often a guest’s first and last point of contact — and that first impressions matter deeply.
- Influencing — You are a strong, decisive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to de-escalate difficult situations with confidence and composure, and to lead by example in moments that require clarity and calm.
- Integrity — You act with the highest standards of discretion, accountability, and professionalism at all times — whether handling sensitive incidents, supporting colleagues, or upholding the hotel’s values when no one is watching.
- Drive — You bring focus, energy, and a proactive mindset to every shift, anticipating risks before they arise and always looking to raise the standard of safety and service across the property.
- Adaptability — You thrive in a dynamic, 24/7 environment, working confidently across rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and adjusting swiftly to the evolving needs of a world-class luxury hotel.
- Previous leadership experience within hotel security, luxury hospitality, or a comparable environment is essential. A valid SIA licence and First Aid at Work qualification are highly desirable.
