Our fun-loving, loving 11 year old client with quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy is looking for a friendly and sociable Support Worker who would love to accompany her on walks outside, playing in the garden and join in with other therapeutic and social activities. Our client is described by her parents as a joy and has a great sense of humour, if you would like the opportunity to support this sociable young lady, please do get in touch
The average hours are below but these do alter at times dependant on appointments etc:
Wednesday 9-5pm
Thursday 9-5pm
Friday 9-5pm
One weekend per month
The Role:
You will be supporting F who lives in her family home with fully adapted facilities including ceiling track hoisting, therapy room and a wet room. F is a wheelchair user and non-verbal but is able to communicate well with people who know her, and she gives a great ‘look’ when she has had enough!
Help with personal care along with therapeutic activities will be an integral part of the role.
You will be working alongside the client with the support of F’s parents and Case Manager.
About You:
Ideally you will have some care experience but more important is your attitude and aptitude for the job and the ability to follow our client’s care and support plans - full training will be provided.
You will be sociable, reliable and patient and have a happy disposition/fun-loving personality along with a positive and empathetic attitude to working with someone with additional needs, creating a fun and lively environment for her to enjoy.
You will be someone who can work on your own initiative and be proactive in helping F explore new activities to develop new skills whilst being a good team player.
The family have a small dog and two cats so you must be an animal lover and not suffer from any pet allergies.
A driver is preferred.
Pay:
The pay for each shift is shown below:
£16.00 per hour Weekdays
£18.00 per hour Weekends
£18.00 per hour Bank Holidays
This role has a pension scheme and paid holidays. Parking is available at our client’s home.
Shifts:
This role is for maternity cover. There is the opportunity for overtime at weekend and in the evening.
An enhanced DBS certificate is a requirement. The Post operates a non-smoking environment at all times.
