About this opportunity:
SW Dog Groomers are looking for an apprentice to join their salon. Offering a bespoke grooming service in a calm, stress-free environment, to ensure the happiness of both staff and dogs!
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award winning groomer, learning how to groom dogs and cats. The course also includes indepth training on coat types, skin conditions and relevant animal legislations.
Duties will include but not limited to:
bathing and drying dogs
preparing dogs to be groomed
assisting the groomers with handling dogs and cats
basic trimming of the dogs
keeping the salon clean and tidy
taking phone calls, greeting clients, using our booking system
We firmly believe that education is so important in our industry. Staff will be offered paid seminars and entry to grooming competitions in order to enhance their skills further.
Desired Skills & Qualities
have a passion for animals
have an interest in pursuing dog grooming as a career
have excellent communication and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in dog grooming.
GCSE or Equivalent in English and maths grade 4/C or above desired, but not essential.
Future Prospects
Apprentices go on to full employment in the industry.
Training Provided
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Dog Grooming Apprenticeship
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
