About The Role
We are looking for a hands-on, strategically minded Depot Transport Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day depot operations. Reporting directly to the National Transport Manager, you will manage a team of drivers that cover a 24hr operation across 4 to 5 days a week Monday to Friday working closely with transport planners and fleet service providers, ensuring that all deliveries and collections run efficiently while upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulations
- O-Licence Management: Maintain full Operator Licence compliance
- Legislation: Ensure strict adherence to DVSA standards, driver hours regulations, Working Time Directive, and tachograph compliance.
- Health & Safety: Oversee depot-wide health and safety, ensuring safe loading, vehicle weights, and yard operations.
Operations & Fleet Management
- Fleet Availability: Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, servicing, MOTs, and daily defect reporting.
- Route Planning: Oversee and optimize multi-drop delivery schedules to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce costs.
People Leadership
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and develop drivers.
- Driver Performance: Conduct driver debriefs, manage performance reviews, and address any disciplinary or training requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Hold or willing to work towards TMCPC: Certificate of Professional Competence (National/International) in Road Transport Management Experience: Proven experience in a transport, and depot supervisory role.
- Compliance Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of UK transport legislation, O-Licence requirements, and tachograph laws.
- Leadership: Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead operational teams under pressure.
- Competent in using Reach trucks or Forklift
- Familiar in Vehicle and Trailer Loading / Unloading
What You Will Bring:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong PC literacy with a focus on accuracy; knowledge of spreadsheets (Google Sheets) is advantageous.
- Proven experience managing a site operational team, preferably within a home delivery retail network.
- Flexibility in approach, as our depots operate 24/7.
- A strong team player who can work independently.
- Strategic and innovative mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Willing to take on warehouse duties and on occasion if required take a route out.
- Driving Licence with a minimum Category C1 with no more than 3 points.
- Open mindset with strong can do approach to tasks.
- Confident in heavy manual handling activities.

Pay: £37,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
