Great opportunity Head Chef required full and part time located in St Margaret's Bay
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Chef Breakfast & Lunchtime to lead our team and deliver an exceptional dining experience. As the creative force behind our kitchen operations, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, with a primary focus on breakfast and lunchtime service, while also supporting occasional evening shifts when required.
You will ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and service, while fostering a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen environment. Your leadership and culinary expertise will help drive menu development, operational efficiency, and memorable dining experiences, while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Duties
- Lead the kitchen team, providing clear direction and motivating staff to achieve consistently high standards.
- Take responsibility for breakfast and lunchtime food preparation and service, ensuring dishes are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
- Cover occasional evening shifts as required, supporting the smooth running of evening service.
- Oversee all food production, ensuring consistency, quality, presentation, and flavour meet required standards.
- Develop and contribute to varied, appealing menus that reflect current culinary trends and cater to a diverse range of customer preferences.
- Manage food preparation and kitchen workflow to ensure efficient service and timely delivery of dishes.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, minimise waste, and control food costs to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Train and support kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety, hygiene, and service standards.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent communication and a consistently high level of customer service.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional kitchen environment throughout all services.
Requirements
- Proven experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive culinary experience with strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Experience working across breakfast, lunch, and occasional evening services within a restaurant, hotel, hospitality, or similar setting.
- Versatility and confidence in preparing a varied range of dishes and cuisines.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and allergen management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate a kitchen team.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining consistently high standards.
- Strong organisational skills, including stock control, ordering, portion control, and waste reduction.
- A passion for quality food, menu innovation, and creating memorable dining experiences.
- Flexibility to work occasional evening shifts when required.
Pay: £27,703.27-£40,499.10 per year
