Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef / Head Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu development, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, training, and performance management of staff
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
- Assist in the preparation of dishes during busy service periods, setting an example for team members
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service and exceptional customer satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and minimise waste to optimise operational efficiency
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst catering to diverse dietary requirements
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a similar role such as Sous Chef or Head Chef
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food presentation across various cuisines
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing teams in high-pressure settings
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within hospitality settings
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in food preparation, serving, and overall kitchen management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during peak service times
- A passion for culinary excellence coupled with a commitment to continuous professional development
