Welling Architectural Ironmongery is a dedicated wholesale supplier to the construction trade, committed to providing high-quality architectural ironmongery products. Our enthusiastic team strives to support builders and contractors with reliable service and expert knowledge.
This role goes beyond standard picking and packing — you'll take ownership of our special product finishing and powder coating process, working directly with our third-party coating partners, logistics and our sales team to ensure specially coated/finished products are shipped promptly and correctly.
What you'll be doing
- Special product finishing & powder coating – disassembling products ready for coating, liaising with our third-party powder coaters and logistics companies, checking returned products are in perfect condition, flagging any issues, re-assembling and re-packaging finished items, and keeping the relevant teams internally updated throughout
- Goods out – picking orders accurately and packaging/labelling them neatly and correctly
- Goods in – working with the team to check, book in, and put away stock, keeping stock tidy and organised
- Health & safety – following workplace rules around handling goods and machinery
- Warehouse standards – helping keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and free of obstructions
What we're looking for
- Previous warehouse or hands-on manual role experience preferred
- Must have an interest in the technical side of products, be able to use hand/light power tools and be practically minded. The job involves taking apart various products, being able to put them back together. Training will be provided
- Comfortable communicating with colleagues, third-party suppliers, and the sales team
- A methodical, conscientious approach — you take pride in getting things right and keeping things tidy and organised
- Physically able to manage manual handling and warehouse duties
- Reliable and a good team player, with a can-do attitude
What's on offer
- £26,500–£27,500 per annum, dependent on experience
- Hours, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with 1hour for breaks/lunch
- Holiday, 20days + bank holidays, plus extra days gifted at Christmas for our shutdown
- Company bonus scheme (subject to tenure and the company hitting targets)
