Tunnel Team Supervisor

About the Role
Boxford Farms is looking for a proactive and reliable Tunnel Team Supervisor to join our Soft Fruit Growing Team.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for leading a team carrying out the construction, maintenance and repair of our polytunnels, ensuring they are ready for the growing and harvest seasons. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining crop quality, supporting efficient field operations, and ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the daily activities of the Tunnel Team.
- Plan and organise tunnel construction, maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure tunnels are prepared in time for the harvest season.
- Change and maintain plastic covers according to weather conditions.
- Monitor weather forecasts and respond to minimise damage.
- Maintain tunnel structures to support optimum fruit quality.
- Promote high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Ensure correct PPE is worn and company procedures are followed.
- Report operational, maintenance and health & safety issues promptly.
- Work closely with the Labour & Harvest Manager to deliver daily objectives.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience supervising or leading a team.
- Is practical and enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Has good communication and organisational skills.
- Can motivate others and lead by example.
- Has a strong awareness of health and safety.
- Is reliable, flexible and able to work during busy seasonal periods.
- Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred).
