Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our team and oversee all aspects of our club operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing sport.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations across all club facilities (courts, cafe, retail, equipment hire)
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service standards
- Manage court bookings, scheduling and facility maintenance coordination
- Maintain health and safety protocols
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally
2. Team Leadership
- Recruit, train and manage the team
- Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all operating hours
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews and training sessions
- Foster a positive, customer-focused team culture
- Manage payroll, holiday requests and HR administration
3. Business Development
- Drive membership sales and retention strategies
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives
- Build relationships with local sports clubs, schools and corporate clients
- Organise tournaments, social events and coaching programs
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends
4. Facility Management
- Ensure courts and facilities are maintained to the highest standards
- Oversee cafe operations including stock management and food safety compliance
- Manage retail inventory and supplier relationships
Essential Requirements
- Prior management experience in sports, leisure or hospitality industry
- Proven track record of team leadership and staff development
- Strong customer service background
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in racquet sports facilities or sports club management
- Knowledge of padel or other racquet sports
- First aid certification
- Marketing and social media management experience
- Coaching qualifications (any sport)
