History of the Organisation:
Established in 1987 as a women’s refuge by a woman who had experienced domestic abuse, our organisation has grown into a local, independent charity dedicated to addressing and improving all aspects of domestic abuse. While we primarily support women and children, our services have evolved to offer a comprehensive range of interventions for adults and children affected by domestic abuse. We work in close partnership with a broad network of organisations to ensure holistic, coordinated support throughout West Lancashire.

About the role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization throughout the premises. The successful candidate will ensure that all rooms and communal areas are cleaned to a high standard, creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for service users.
Key Tasks
· Clean and sanitize bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas.
· Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and surfaces.
· Change bed linen and make beds as required.
· Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish appropriately.
· Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables.
· Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards promptly.
· Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
· Follow health and safety procedures and infection control guidelines.
· Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
· Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, ironing, and folding where required.
· Respond courteously to requests from management.
Safeguarding and Reporting
· Ensure the safety and welfare of all service users and follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
· Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents and observations.
· Maintain high-quality records and reporting of support provided.
· To seek regular service user feedback and evaluation to support delivery and practice.
General
· Work as a member of the team to ensure effective delivery of service and individual work plans, including working across teams where appropriate
· Maintain a working knowledge and comply with TLC policies and procedures including health and safety
· Engage in supervision, performance reviews and training
· To provide services in an anti-discriminatory manner in accordance with TLC’s Equality and diversity policy
· At all times represent The Liberty Centre in a professional, approachable and service user focused manner, ensuring that confidentiality is observed
We respond to the need of individuals and some of the tasks are therefore unpredictable. It is therefore expected that all staff members will work in a flexible way when required, undertaking tasks that are not specifically covered in this job description. Requirements
- E.g GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English - Desirable
- Experience in housekeeping and cleaning - Essential
- Good attention to detail and high standards -Essential
- Ability to work independently and a part of a team - Essential

- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods - Essential
