We are looking for an experienced, passionate and inspiring Head Therapist to join our Spa team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, developing people and driving spa performance.
As Head Therapist, you will support the Spa Manager in leading a high-performing therapist team while maintaining the highest standards of treatment delivery, guest care, training and operational excellence.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting the commercial success of the spa through treatment and retail sales, team development and exceptional guest satisfaction. You will lead by example on the spa floor, coaching and mentoring therapists to deliver outstanding treatments and memorable guest journeys.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will combine operational management, therapist development and guest care to ensure the spa consistently exceeds expectations.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience
- Deliver exceptional treatment experiences and maintain the highest service standards
- Ensure a consistent and professional guest journey in line with SOPs
- Support service recovery and professionally resolve guest concerns
- Monitor treatment quality and maintain excellent treatment room standards
- Promote a guest-focused culture throughout the team
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach and mentor Spa Therapists and Senior Spa Therapists
- Deliver inductions, onboarding and ongoing therapist training
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews
- Support therapists with personal development plans and technical skill progression
- Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation
- Act as a role model for professionalism, standards and teamwork
Sales & Commercial Performance
- Support achievement of spa treatment and retail targets
- Maximise sales opportunities through upselling and cross-selling
- Promote high-value treatments and retail products
- Deliver product knowledge training and treatment demonstrations
- Support the Spa Manager with promotions, offers and new initiatives
Operational & Financial Support
- Support stock control, stock takes and reporting procedures
- Minimise product wastage through effective monitoring and training
- Ensure treatment protocols are followed to maintain cost efficiency
- Monitor therapist productivity and operational performance
- Support operational cover and Duty Manager responsibilities where required
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, SOPs and legal requirements
- Maintain health & safety, GDPR and audit standards
- Ensure safe handling and storage of professional products
- Keep training, risk assessment and compliance records up to date
- Ensure all mandatory training is completed within required timeframes
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a senior spa therapist or supervisory role
- Recognised beauty/spa therapy qualifications
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness with experience driving treatment and retail sales
- A hands-on, positive and professional approach
- Strong knowledge of spa operations, treatment standards and compliance
