Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Night Time Care Assistant to provide compassionate support to residents in a care home setting. This role is essential in ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and comfort of individuals during overnight hours. Please note that sponsorship is not available for this position. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in residents' lives.
This is a 36 hour contract, which includes alternative weekend work.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care routines such as washing, dressing, and mobility during night shifts
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing throughout the night, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Follow care plans accurately to meet individual needs and preferences
- Support residents with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any incidents occurring during the shift
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations or calls for assistance
- Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and comfortable for residents at all times
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment.
- Care Certificate or equivalent NVQ
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work overnight shifts on a regular basis, demonstrating flexibility and reliability
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills and patience
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures related to elderly or vulnerable adults is beneficial
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
