Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and professional Principal Close Protection Refresher Trainer / Instructor to deliver specialised training programmes aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of close protection personnel. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of security protocols, training methodologies, and effective communication techniques. Duties
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive refresher training sessions for close protection personnel, ensuring all participants meet required standards.
- Develop and update training materials in accordance with current industry regulations, best practices, and organisational policies.
- Assess trainee performance through practical exercises and theoretical assessments, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and certification status in compliance with organisational requirements.
- Ensure all training activities adhere to health and safety regulations, including the implementation of appropriate protective measures during sessions.
- Collaborate with security management teams to identify training needs and customise programmes accordingly.
- Keep abreast of developments in close protection techniques, security legislation, and relevant IT tools utilised in training delivery.
- Support organisational objectives by promoting professionalism, integrity, and continuous learning among trainees.
Skills
- Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills essential for effective instruction.
- Proven experience in teaching or delivering specialised security or close protection training programmes.
- Strong organisational skills to plan, coordinate, and execute training sessions efficiently.
- Good IT literacy to utilise digital training platforms, presentation software, and assessment tools effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage trainees from diverse backgrounds and foster a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of plumbing or related practical skills is advantageous but not mandatory; emphasis is on teaching capability within security contexts.
- Ability to convey complex concepts clearly and adapt teaching styles to suit different learner levels.

Close Protection Teaching Qualifications
Teaching qualification (essential)
You must hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as:
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)
- Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET)
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET)
- Or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Occupational competence in Close Protection (essential)
You must be able to demonstrate competence as a Close Protection operative, usually by holding:
- A current or recently expired SIA Close Protection licence, or
- Extensive, verifiable industry experience in close protection.
- Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training (or equivalent recognised qualification) For close protection.
Pay: From £190.00 per day
